Self-Taping has revolutionised the way actors are able to audition more so than ever in the ‘new normal.’ The ability to self-tape an audition has allowed people to be considered for projects that are being cast thousands of miles away from home. It has also increased the number of auditions people can apply for.

  • People who have some basic understanding of acting for camera
  • Those who are returning to screen acting & wish to refresh their skills
Course Overview

Working with a TV industry professional, you will:

  • Explore preparation exercises from a variety of acting practitioners with focus on relaxation, developing imagination and creating believable performances
  • Develop an understanding of the technical aspects of shooting a scene and how this affects performance
  • Learn about castings and auditions for film, television and commercials
  • Prepare and work on monologues, duologues from a range of genres

Course Detail

Times: Once a week for 4 weeks. The course consists of 4 x 2 hour sessions in total.
Age: Minimum age is 16. No upper age limit.
International students: You are welcome to join this course from anywhere in the world provided you meet our minimum
language requirements.
Language requirements: Applicants must be confident speaking and reading English to a conversational level (IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent). Please note, you will be expected to read texts/scripts that may have advanced vocabulary in them on this course.
Attendance: Due to the structure of the courses, and the collaborative nature of acting, full attendance is requested.

The Meisner Technique is a distinct approach towards personal preparation and performance creation. It’s about how we connect with fellow actors to create organic, believable and engaging choices.

Some understanding of the core principles of Stanislavski’s system or method may be useful but is not essential. You will be working in a virtual group on Zoom with one of our experienced
