Scripts will be provided upon arrival and you will have a chance to mock audition in front of Joanne. Joanne will then provide you tailored feedback and guidance on how to do your best in a soap audition. Followed by a short Q & A Session for all questions related to TV Castings, Films and Stage.

  • People who have some basic understanding of acting for camera
  • Those who are returning to screen acting & wish to refresh their skills
About Joanne

Joanne began her career as an Actress, later moving into Casting where she has been working for over 15 years. Starting out her career as a Casting Director in Theatre, she moved over to the Casting Department at Coronation Street in 2007 and has stayed there ever since. Primarily responsible for small guest roles she has played a vital role in finding many previous and current characters you see on your screens today. She also casts for new short films and is an ITV Rep on the Salford Television Workshop board, and has recently taken over casting for the prestigious JB Shorts.

The voice is probably one of the actors most important tools. Through it you can create character, open up voice-over work, improve auditions and surprise audiences.

Take part in this collective session to increase breath capacity, expand range, sharpen diction and discover the voice. Explore the shapes of accents and how to create them.
